The Bakhtiari nomadic tribespeople of the Zagros Mountains in Iran were known for their particularly durable rugs. They traditionally produced only geometric designs, however they became influenced by the floral designs of the Persian cities, and ultimately formed their own unique and innovative designs. Bakhtiari rugs typically use vegetable and natural dyes, and are predominantly in shades of brown, rust red, and black, with beige and white accents.
