Tabriz rugs originate from one of the oldest rug weaving centers of Iran, the populous city of Tabriz, which is approximately 600km west of Tehran in the East Azerbaijan Province. Tabriz is famous for playing a significant role in developing the rich traditions of the decorative and applied arts in Iran. Unlike most other rug producing cities and villages, Tabriz has one of the most diverse ranges of beautiful designs, including floral, geometric, figural, pictorial and others.
